Sire is Zeke. Dam is Valleigh. Valleigh comes from Basnet Farms in Iowa. She is from a long line of Livestock Guardian Dogs. Both parents and her grandmother have full time jobs on the farm. Zeke's has been a guardian since he came to our farm in 2016. He loves all baby livestock. It's not unusual for him to help the new mama clean the babies after birth. Zeke keeps all predators off the farm.
They had 7 puppies, 4 females and 3 males. The puppies are 3/4 Anatolian Shepherd and 1/4 Great Pyreness. They will be looking for their own farm to guard at 10 weeks.
We have sold puppies that are LGDs and as pets. We are selective with our buyers to make sure the pups are going into the right situation. We need to know your living situation (farm, yard, fence etc) as well as other details. We take back any puppy for any reason.
The pups will have been vet checked. Worming begins at 2 weeks and continues every other week until they leave. By 10 weeks the pups will have been started on puppy booster shots they need to protect them from parvo and distemper, as well as other canine diseases.
The puppies are born in a secure area separate from the livestock. We will expose the pups to the sheep as they get older. It is our belief that a livestock guardian dog will be a livestock guardian naturally. They do not have to be raised in with livestock in order to bond and guard them.
